English storytelling

“Once upon a time...” - This is the common way folk and fairy tales told in English start like, and they usually have a happy ending. However, this was not the case with the stories the professional British storyteller Richard Martin presented to the students of year 9 on 26th April.

During one lesson he enthusiastically told stories from different sorts of cultural background and of various topics and captivated the young audience by his lively, thoughtful and entertaining performance. The texts were quite easy to understand, spurred the audience's imagination and covered topics like love and horror. Too quickly passed the time and the students finally went into the break with lots of pictures and English expressions in their heads, like “Be bold, be bold, but not too bold” that was repeatedly used in the very last tale which was a kind of horror story.
